Skylands’ recreational activities benefit our entire membership — improving health, fitness, and cycling-related skills — all while forging new friendships.
Our rides vary from social and leisurely — to flat-out race pace — through some of the most beautiful and bike-friendly countryside in the northeast.
Bike safety and maintenance clinics, charity rides, and extended cycling trips throughout the region (oftentimes, with pit-stops to partake in local goods and attractions) are also part of the unique blend Skylands Cycling offers all levels of cyclist.
Ride More, Ride Better

Rides
Regularly scheduled rides, include…
- Thursday Night Rides from Kittatinny Valley State Park / Lake Aeroflex Boat Launch Parking Lot — Our “standard” ride attracts multiple groups following a similar ~29-mile route, but at different paces — ranging from very fast A (not Skylands-sanctioned) to casual C rides. Rolling at 5:30 PM. Season-permitting.
- Tuesday Loops from Frankford Township Park — ~11-mile loop. All levels welcome. Starts as one group and then naturally breaks into smaller pace groups or solo rider. Most riders complete 2–3 loops, but you’re welcome to ride as many as you’d like. Rolling at 6:00 PM. Season-permitting.
- Monday Meet ’n‘ Greet Ride from Florence M Burd Elementary School, Andover — ~22-mile low-pressure “social” ride. Perfect for those considering joining Skylands, or more experienced members seeking a recovery spin. A few reasonably easy climbs. No drop. Regroup at intersections. Casual pace (15 MPH max). Rolling at 6:00 PM. Season-permitting.
- Monday on Sunday Ride — Same place, same route, same vibe as our Monday Meet ’n‘ Greet Ride — but on Sunday morning. Rolling at 10:00 AM.
In addition to our “standard” rides, members are always taking initiative to organize unique road, mountain, and gravel rides. On any given weekend (or weekday) there’s likely a great ride to be had, no matter what you’re into. Members share routes and ride updates via Skylands’ BikeMail and Facebook groups.
